1. The world, as we know it, is constantly under threat. With our own eyes, we can observe how our environment deteriorates, and we can most likely feel the effects on our bodies. If the earth is suffering from all the pollution and toxins it receives everyday, so does the human population.

According to the World Health Organization (WHO), by 2030, it is projected that the number of deaths caused by cancers, heart disease, HIV, and AIDS will reach more than six million per year per disease. These health conditions are generally caused by the introduction of toxins in our bodies. The toxins we take in come from food we ingest, water we drink, and air we inhale. Though harmful, the intake of these substances is unavoidable, and most often, unnoticeable.

Sometimes, these substances are introduced into the body forcibly, because of bad habits and vices, such as cigarette smoking and alcoholism. The WHO estimates that by 2030, more than 8.3 million people will die every year because of cigaretterelated diseases. About 80% of those deaths will occur in countries with low to middle incomes, which means with limited access to reputable medical facilities. Other conditions that are projected to remain as world problems are tuberculosis, HIV, AIDS, and infectious diseases.

A great percentage of deadly medical conditions are caused by toxins invading the body. Some toxins are by-products of industrial processes, which include preserved foods, contaminated water, and polluted air. Some toxins make their way into the body by means of microorganisms such as bacteria, fungi, and viruses. These microbes produce wastes within our bodies, which are toxic, and causes or systems to malfunction.

Because of this, there is a great need for body detoxification. Although the human body is constructed in such a way as to battle the toxins invading it, it can only do so much. Body detoxification may involve special procedures and treatments to ensure that harmful substances exit the body and diseases are avoided.
